Carousel Systems

Carousels are an efficient way to store, pick, and protect your small parts. Storing small parts in a carousel, whether horizontal or vertical, gives you the following advantages:

• Higher pick rates: The material handler now has the parts come to him rather than walking miles through the warehouse to go find the parts.
• Reduction in labor: The number of order pickers will be considerably lower due to the higher pick rates achieved through use of the carousel.
• Less space required: A group of carousels, called a pod, take up much less space than static shelving. Because you don’t need to have picking aisles between carousels, they can take up to 66% less space than standard shelving.



• Improved order accuracy: Light directed picking in the carousel reduces the chance for errors. Instead of the picker reviewing a paper document and then going back to a static shelf, the carousel lights up the quantity and item to be picked.
• Greater inventory control: The software provided with your carousel allows you to cycle count at any time, making it very easy to keep accurate inventory. The system can also be set with minimum and maximum quantities, so you will be alerted when replenishment is necessary.
• Improved security: Vertical carousels can be locked to secure the items inside. Horizontal carousels are naturally “closed” because the sides are constructed of wire, making it difficult to remove items from the sides of the unit.
