Portable Racks by EGA Clean Things Up

A long time customer of CSI, Lifting Gear Hire Corp. provides lifting and rigging equipment for sale or rental. They handle a very diverse product line that ranges from slings and cables to heavy duty jacks.
Such a wide variety of products can pose a big challenge to the plant manager that’s trying to keep an organized, efficient warehouse.
The before and after pictures shown above is a great example of the perfect use of portable racks. These racks, made by EGA Products, are ideal for stacking and storing products that are otherwise unstackable.

Best Use of Speedrack Yet!

Michael Scarlati recently completed a unique rack installation at Kenwood Liquors in Chicago. Kenwood Liquors has provided fine wines, spirits and brews to the Midwest for over 50 years. When they decided to open a new branch, they wanted a storage system that would be modern, efficient, sturdy and cost effective.

After meeting with Michael and going over the plans for the store, they decided on pallet racks with a combination of smooth, laminated wood decks for small items, carton flow lanes for fast moving items and wire decks for overstock items.

As you can see from the pictures, the result was both effective and attractive.
This is how racks were meant to be used!

Custom Hanger System Saves Valuable Space
APL Logistics (www.apl.com) is a 3rd Party Logistics company (3PL). They serve a variety of clients whose products range from cosmetics to food, and everything in between. Recently, they were given the opportunity to warehouse and ship product for a clothing manufacturer. The customers’ product would have to be stored on pallets, in boxes and on hangers. This presented a daunting task for the General Manager charged with setting up the warehouse.
Jeff Chodos, General Manager for APL Logistics, relied on Michael Scarlati (link to Sales Team) to come up with a solution.
Michael recommended Speedrack’s selective racking (www.speedrack.net) used in conjunction with Nashville Wire Decks (www.nashvillewire.com) and a custom hanger system.
Normally, hanging product can be supported from the wire decks above them. In this case APL couldn’t afford to give up the vertical space required for an additional level of beams and decks. Scarlati came up with a custom hanger bar that would enable the customer to store hanging products below the first beam while not interfering with pallets stored on the same beam.
In addition to the solution being economical and efficient, CSI was able to complete the installation of all the racking, decking, and custom hanger brackets in 3 weeks. The DC started operations on time and under budget!
